I have the 578.uk version of the same media center and I have already
ditched it !

I had been planning the purchase for some time and finally afforded the
machine. I last 3 days in the living room.

TV quite plaining sucks ! ghosting etc etc etc I have searched for fixes and
impovements. Live TV pic quality is terrible so you can only imagine how bad
recordings are at lower levels.

I am afraid to say my media center is just a PC now and I have a new DVD
recorder in the living room.

Frankly I feel totally ripped off by MS :

1. the info on the site paints it to be the be all and end of living room
entertainment - it is not i can not even do TV right.

2. AND THIS IS THE WORST BIT - the media clips they use in the store demos
(and on set up) are unreal quality - and you think that is what it is going
to be like quality wise.

If I want the sensation of watching TV through a dirty window the media
center is the most expensive way of doing it imho.
