This _should not_ relate to component video (since it is analog), but a shot
in the dark might be related to the copy protection schemes used between
digital HD video out and the display. Does that notebook have native-mode
component video out? IF==TRUE, maybe it is related to the way the notebook
gets from digital video out to component. If HDCP were implemented on the
video output stages of the notebook and MCE were looking at that "flag," you
may get an error related to copy protection because it thinks you are
running high-res digital video out to a display that does not support it.
Did you try a DVD that is not copy protected to see if you get the same
error? Just a shot in the dark as a potential place to start
troubleshooting......
