Believe it or not I've never yet bought anything from eBay, but will
probably buy from the link given in the other posting!

As bad as Haupauge then ;-)

Hmm, this is not good news at all, are there any other cards which are
available in the UK which will support the FreeView channels which will
work reliably with MCE?

Now I'm also (whie I am at it) thinking of upgrading the motherboard and
processor on the PC. I'd like to go for something with 8 x USB connectors
and a nice fast processor, with plenty of free PCI slots, and an inbuilt
net card.

The questions are:

- Should I go Athlon (which I have used on the last 2 machines) or go
Pentium 4?
- As I know little about the technical aspects of mobo design can anyone
recommend a good reliable mobo one should go with? I'd like to go with a
major manufacturer like ASUS, ABIT or GigaByte. Ideally I'm looking for an
upward upgradable processor (speed) for the future, serial ATA and
something which will be dramatically faster than the AMD Athlon(tm) XP
2000+ 1.7 GHz which I am running now.

I _really_ hope someone can recommend a good mobo and processor combination
as that is my weak area specifying up that part of the build.

To recap: going with:

Gfx Card: NVIDIA GeForce FX5200
Tv Card: Unknown yet
Remote: Philips Remote Control & USB IR Receiver for Microsoft Windows X
Mobo: Unknown yet
Processor: Unknown yet

I really want to order the parts this weekend so any and all assistance
appreciated.

Again guys hope you can assist. ;-)
