I am a little baffled. If the tutorial is perfect I don't understand why
playing a DVD through MCE would not be. There are recorded at the same
resolution to the best of my knowledge. Since your system has a NVIDIA video
card you might try upgrading your video card driver to the 56.ax version
available on the NVIDIA Web site. As far as I am concerned you should get
excellent video with the configuration you have and I don't understand why
you are not since you have a totally HP configured system I can not believe
that they, HP, would overlook something. If you can get through to an
support person HP who understands your issue you should be able to get some
decent assistance. The hard part will be getting to the right level 2
support group. I don't know if your monitor will accept and scale up a
resolution such as 800x600 to 1024x768 but you might try it and see what
happens.
If you got your system at a local retailer you might try testing an
identical system and monitor at the store and see how a DVD works there.
Again I request that any MVPs that have any knowledge in this area to assist
here in resolving your problem.
