> Can you describe in more detail how you use the Avcast.com system. Do you have PC caster & Media Caster. Can you use a remote. My computer is in the basement, and I want to use it two floors up?

Sure can!

The entire system works by feeding signals over your existing coax cable
in your home, generally this feeds your cable TV. It feeds audio,
video, and infrared signals over the coax.

I have a mediacaster which accepts the composite-out and audio-out
connections from my PC. The mediacaster also has an IR blaster which is
connected to the USB IR receiver on the MCE. The mediacaster allows you
to select a channel on which you'd like to broadcast the audio and
video. Select a channel and now every TV in the house is seeing your
cloned PC desktop.

On the TV end, I have an IR receiver that receives the remote commands
and injects them onto the coax cable to be repeated down at the computer.

My MCE computer is in the basement, and my TV is located in the
upper-floor bedroom. I bought an extra IRCaster so that I could use it
in the kitchen as well.

There is a guy on eBay who sells the avcast kits (Tony Hito I believe),
I bought one from him and was happy with his service.

Note that these kits broadcast audio in mono only, it is a common
complaint amongst some. The stereo modulators will cost you 3 to 4
times as much as the avcast kit.

To summarize based on the decriptions here:

I have:
1 - Avcast Media Kit
1 - IRCaster / Detector Kit

Pete
