My two other PC with Windows 2000 and Windows XP do not have this problem connected to the same router(either via wireless or ethernet). On my Media Center PC, my internet connection seems to randomly get clogged (forcing me to reboot and disconnect the ethernet connection) even if I am not browsing on the internet (i.e. just sitting at the desktop). I have tried the following:
>1) Ran Adaware to get rid of data mining cookies.

Any thoughts? I AM BEGGING FOR HELP! Maybe a faulty Network Interface Card (though that would be very rare). Gateway has no clue.
When this happens, open a command prompt on the Gateway and type:
netstat /o
In the far right column you will see Process ID's - PID. Now, open
Task Manager using CTRL-ALT-DEL and go to the Process tab. If there is
no PID column, select View|Select Columns, check PID and OK. Now,
click on PID so it sorts numerically.
Now, compare the process IDs of connections that are listed as
"ESTABLISHED" to see which programs have connections. You can also
click on the Nnetworking tab of Task Manager to actually see traffic,
though there will be no info on the actual process causing the traffic
there.
