480 mbps for USB 2.0 vs 400 mbps. In practice Firewire gets better
performance, but USB 2.0 is everywhere now. The latest Firewire is 800 mbps.
But if you want those speeds you are probably trying to hook up a hard
drive, and at short distances external serial ATA is the new standard hard
drive interface.

the firewire port and was wondering what it was for. Come on everybody lets
let MS know we want this feature!!!!

can use USB instead of firewire if it is USB 2.0. That has Twice the
bandwidth of firewire. (80mbps vs 40 mbsp I believe... i could be wrong with
the numbers)

movie to your hard drive and ripping it. Dual layer dvds are coming out!
