During the remote detection phase MCE will say "Remote sensor not located",
this is because it's looking specifically for an MCE remote.

I found an MCE cracked driver for my card (I forget where now), got the
latest update patch (which I had to use to get the IR to work) and IR
software from Hauppauge. No WinTV2K installed at all, and it works like a
champ.

MCE will recognize the remote when you get a real MCE remote (see the link
above). Until then it will always say that it can't find your remote. That
doesn't mean that the remote you have won't work, because it has it's own
separate software apart from MCE. If your remote works in WinTV2K it should
work fine in MCE, so long as you make the correct modifications to ir.ini.

I don't know what to tell you about that. Mine worked just right as soon as
I changed the ir.ini file. Although, I modified mine myself from
instructions I found on a message board somewhere. As I recall I had a
little trouble because the instructions (which I just cut and pasted from)
had comments out to the side that the IR software was mistaking as commands.
