I have an HP 873n with a 2.53GHz P4. I agree with your complaint about the fuzzy picture, but I have no problem multi-tasking while I'm watching TV in a window on my desktop. Media Center (ehshell.exe) typically only uses ~20-25% of the CPU while watching Live TV, according to Windows Task Manager.

Every once in a while (and I have no idea why), the CPU usage will go up to 90-99%, and then I have to reboot to fix it. But fortunately that doesn't happen very often.

What is your CPU usage when you watch Live TV? It sounds like you have some kind of problem that is not typical.

I have an HP 864n. I recently upgraded to the 53.04 drivers. They are
definitely better as far as reduced interlace artifacts on horizontal motion
     (like the stock ticker.)

My two biggest complaints on this computer are:
     1. Fuzzy TV picture
     2. Computer doesn't want to do anything else when TV is activated.

The MPEG processing and hard drive writing and reading slows everything down
to a crawl. It's too much for a 2.6 gig machine.....
