When we use Ctrl-F3 we get all the information about the email, as if
checking the source. What is this supposed to accomplish? The situation is
that all the email in heer Inbox has been affected - that is, the only way to
read any of them, including attachments is to use Plain Text and then click
on the resulting paperclip.
Un-installing OE, wiping out the Reg keys, deleting OE folders, etc. nothing
has worked to make the email viewable either in Preview or in its own window
(after dbl-clicking).
Created an account in Outlook instead, imported all messages and addresses,
and all is well so far.
Still stumped about OE though.

Then it is not an E-mail. I don't know how it could have been received
into the Inbox.

Again, try using Ctrl-F3 then. Note Alt-Enter, Ctrl-Tab,Alt-M is the equivalent
and is required if the Preview pane is off. An alternative which might make
your inspection easier is to use Message, Forward as Attachment and then
drag the resulting .eml attachment to an open Notepad window.
