Brian, do you have another browser installed (e.g., Firefox; AOL Browser; Yahoo Browser)?

Are you running IE6 or IE7? <=just a question, NOT a recommendation or suggestion!!

What anti-virus application or security suite is installed and is your subscription current? What anti-spyware applications (other than Defender)? What third-party firewall (if any)?

Has a Norton or McAfee application ever been installed on this machine (e.g., a free-trial version that came preinstalled when you bought it)?

Yes. Try to create the entry using the information provided. Reboot when
done.

Thank You. I've fallen at the first hurdle unfortunately in that under
File Types I do not have an entry for [NONE] URL: HyperText Transfer
Protocol. My list jumps from [None] URL: File Transfer Protocol to
[None] URL: LDAP Protocol. I do however have an entry for [None].

Hyperlinks do not work in Outlook Express after you upgrade to Internet

If nothing happens when you click a link:
Open Windows Explorer, or the Control Panel.
Go to Tools | Folder Options | File Types.
Scroll down to [NONE] URL:HyperText Transfer Protocol (NOT URL:Internet
Shortcut) and select it.
Click Edit or Advanced, depending on your Windows version.
Select 'open'.
Click Edit.

"Application used to perform this action" should read:

"C:\PROGRAM FILES\INTERNET EXPLORER\iexplore.exe" -nohome (Check the
path to
iexplore.exe to make sure that is correct and use the double quotes.)

DDE should be checked and in the boxes below it you should have:

"%1",,-1,0,,,,
#2
IExplore
#3 (blank)

#4
WWW_OpenURL

URL:HyperText Transfer Protocol with Privacy should be the same.

Sometimes it is necessary to uncheck Use DDE.

I seem to be unable to opening browser links contained in e-mail
messages. I can only open the page by cutting & pasting into MSIE. Is
there a setting I can change in Outlook Express so that I can open
internet pages from links in e-mails please?
