Please state your full Windows version (e.g., WinXP SP3).

Is Automatic Updates enabled (http://www.microsoft.com/windows/downloads/windowsupdate/learn/windowsxp.mspx)?

Go to http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com | select CUSTOM & scan: If any updates are offered, can you install them successfully?

=> NB: Please do NOT install IE7 or WinXP SP3 at this point, if they're not already installed!

OE Tools | Options | Read | Read all messages in plain text <= is this option enabled?

OE Tools | Options | Security | Block images and... <= is this option enabled?

My gut is telling me that something is coming down in the updates that is
blocking the network somehow. I had a lot of updates around the time this
happened, but not that sure as it was not brought to my attention until
later.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
