thank you very much for taking your time to respond.
yes, there was a typo, it was com. in her address. and, now i see com. was
also in the error msg.
i had deleted the period after com several days ago in address book. but,
after your post i looked in address book again and it had reappeared. why, i
have no idea.
anyhow, i decided to delete her entirely from contacts. then, sent her
another email by typing in her address in "to". it worked. no error msg.
also, i just booted up express twice and no error msg. hope it sticks.
again, many thanks for your time...

Are you typing her email address or using Autocomplete to populate the TO.
field when you're sending her a message using OE? If the former, you're
making a typo. If the latter, there's a typo in the email address you
entered for her in your Address Book.
According to the error message (which is coming from your mailserver, not
hers and not OE), the typo's after the ampersand (@ symbol); e.g.,
"susan@;san.rr.com", "susan@xxxxxx,com", or "susan@xxxxxxxxxxx"
If this only happens when you REPLY TO one of her messages, her REPLY TO
address isn't correctly formatted in the Mail Client on her machine.

a friend recently changed her email address and her provider. when i
emailed her, the below error msg appeared. i now get the error msg before
all outgoing emails. they go thru, but only after the error msg appears.
the error msg also appears whenever i boot up express.
i called the provider and they said to send her email thru webmail. i did
and there was no error msg. the provider said the problem was with
express.
here is the error msg with my friend's user name deleted:
The message could not be sent because one of the recipients was rejected
by
the server. The rejected e-mail address was '_____________@xxxxxxxxxxx'.
Subject 'Fw: _____________', Account: 'pop.west.cox.net', Server:
'smtp.west.cox.net', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '550 5.5.0
<____________@xxxxxxxxxxx> domain missing or malformed', Port: 25,
Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 550, Error Number: 0x800CCC79
she doesn't have this problem with anyone else, just my accnt.
any help would be greatly appreciated.
