Can I Google on an IP? If Yes, how?

You can't search on an IP in OE.

You've been connected to the internet via FiberNet of West Virginia
(wvfibernet.net) when you've posted here.

How do I do a search on newsgroup headers? Specifically, how would I
search
Line 8 of all posts to find 64.181.89.216?

Another question ......
What is "Fibernet"?

Thanks

Every post I make to newsgroups is being maliciously tracked by a
certain
individual. I then receive pornographic email at home. Is there a way
to
conceal one's identity completely (headers) when posting to a
newsgroup
using Outlook Express 6.0?

MS Outlook Express has little to do with what shows up in some header
lines. While you can control the name and email address, you can't
control
the IP address. The server you connect to sees your IP address, and
either
adds it, or not, depending upon how it is configured. That is up to
the
NNTP
server administrator.

Consider your posting headers:

NNTP-Posting-Date: Thu, 03 Jul 2008 16:47:25 -0500
From: Rob <emasil@xxxxxxxxx>
X-Newsreader: Microsoft Outlook Express 6.00.2900.3138
X-RFC2646: Format=Flowed; Original
X-MimeOLE: Produced By Microsoft MimeOLE V6.00.2900.3198
Message-ID: <FaqdnRdkE8pz1fDVnZ2dnUVZ_sPinZ2d@xxxxxxxxxxxxx>
X-Usenet-Provider: http://www.giganews.com
NNTP-Posting-Host: 64.181.89.216

Those are some of the lines I would use to search on. You have control
over line 2. MSOE controls line 3. Your NNTP provider controls the
rest.

So ......

You say you would search on certain lines in a header ....
Are lines 4 to end unique to me and identify me in all my posts?

Line 2 uniquely identifies you in all posts made using MS Outlook
Express
as
you have configured it for posting in this news group.

Line 8 *may* also uniquely identify you, if Fibernet assigns it
statically
to your account.

Line 6 uniquely identifies the particular post you made; from which I
can
deduce that you use Earthlink as an ISP.

Together, lines 6, 7, and 8 identify with whom you have Internet
service,
and NNTP service.

There are some NNTP services which don't display your NNTP Posting IP
address; but most do add something in the headers by which a reader can
classify a poster to some degree, or other.

I noticed something else this evening .................
I watched as Norton Antivirus scanned my HD tonight. VAV identified
whay
it
called a "Tracking Cookie". Could this possibly be something this
"character" is using to track my posts to newsgroups?

No. There are no cookies used on NNTP servers accessed by news clients,
such
as MS Outlook Express. Cookies are used between web browsers and
servers,
and would only affect your news group reading if you accessed news
groups
through a web service, such as Google Groups.
