Re: New news server - attachments stopped working

I see the encoded text. Should have said that in the first post. I tried
waiting for the (what is now suddenly a) lengthy hyperlink check to
complete. Still remains as encoded text after that.

What are you seeing?

Are you seeing a bunch of encoded text in the message reading window?

If you look at the Message Source (Ctrl-F3) do you see the encoded text?

If you don't see anything there, then it could be that new news server is
removing the attachments. Some news servers do not allow attachments, or
restricted them to a limited number of newsgroups.

I recently switched from Comcast to Verizon FiOS. Verizon does provide
Usenet access, but it is "unsupported". Regardless, I updated my OE
account information to swap over to the new server with my new user
account. No problems except for one.

I can no longer get even the most basic attachment or embedded image to
show up as an attachment in the pop up read window or display in the
viewing window (for non-multipart images). I had yProxy set up with the
Comast news server to take care of yEnc information, but with this new
service I can't even get non-yEnc JPG or PNG files to decode in the
standard viewing window from any of the rail or photo enthusiast
newsgroups that worked fine under Comcast. I have my Options set up
exactly the same way as before, but can't get any images to show up.

Under Comcast I never had to mark anything for offline reading or
anything like some of the other options I've seen for similar reported
problems. It just worked. Even multipart binaries (yEnc or not) where I
did a Combine & Decode would integrate immediately after capture, without
the lengthy pop-up window hyperlink check that everyone else seems to
get. Now I can't even get a single image to show up.
