Re: Exporting Messages OE6 - MAPI Error

Tech-Archive recommends: Repair Windows Errors & Optimize Windows Performance

See these links. IMHO, it would be easier to get the entire message store to the other PC, and then remove what you don't want. Folders.dbx must be included in a backup, or a tedious manual import will result.

If you are transferring to another PC, and have access to a Windows XP setup CD, or if both computers are running Windows XP, see:

Hi Mike,

Thanks for your response.

My reason for doing this is to transfer the messages to OE 6 on another PC,
but not necesarrily to the same folder(s). If export is not the way to go,
then what do you advise? I'm hoping to avoid having to hard-wiring the 2 PCs
if possible. Thanks.

If you are trying to export to Windows Messaging or Outlook97/98/2000+
on the same PC, then that program must be the default MAPI program (Not
OE). The messages go to the default profile in that program. On the
other hand, if all you want to do is back up the files or transfer to
another PC using OE, Export is not the way to go.
