Re: email with sound in the background

Well, here's the situation. If I create an email with a WAV file as
background, I hear it; but, if it's a MIDI file, I hear nothing. When Laura
gets the email (Hotmail), she hears nothing but does have the option to
"open the attachment" and hear the sound. If I make a BCC to me, when I get
it I can hear the WAV, but not the message with the MIDI -- plus, there is
no attachment to open.

Could be either on the sender's end or your end.

The sender needs to use HTML format and you must not have set Tools,
Options, Read, Read all messages in plain text (For a quick workaround
for the current message, press ALT+Shift+H)

From there, things get a bit more complicated.

Take a look at the message source (Ctrl-F3) and see if there are any
attached sound files.

Do you see a WAV, MID or MP3 sound file?

What mail program did the sender use? In the message source look for an
X-mailer or User-agent header.

Look in the HTML code for a tag referencing the sound file. What does
it say?

When someone sends me an email with sound in the background, I don't
get the
sound -- I don't even see any indication that there is supposed to be
sound -- why is that?
