I have Win XP SP2; IE7; OE6. and have just changed from dial-up to
an LAN.
At startup OE6 can take any thing from 10min to an Hour and a half
to find the mail server, it will eventually make the connection and
then operation is
100% normal until I break the connection and the whole process
restarts. I have pinged the address in both conditions and this
confirms the not/connected state.
OE6 produces the error code 0x800CCC0D, suggesting that I have
incorrect addresses, protocols, ports etc but I have verified these
with the LAN admin
and rechecked them several times.
The problem remained with the e-mail scanner uninstalled and the
fire wall disabled.
The LAN connection data was installed manually by their
"technician" on site
and the whole thing was a bit of a stumble. Could there be some
inobvious settings left in place from the previous Dial-up
connection ?
Any assistance would be appreciated.
