Michael,
I normally just click on the OK button without noticing which news server
was the one which gave the message. I will monitor this.
I also use a separate newsreader NewsbinPro and have 60 newsgroups open. I
do not get any such tcp/ip messages or timeouts with this program.

Does it happen in all newsgroups? MSNews is not going to do this, but it
could be your ISP.

How can I prevent Outlook Express 6 from constantly losing its
connection? (timing out?) This does not happen with my Outlook 2007.
regards,
Ian
Sorry I should have posted the error message which is:
The TCP/IP connection was terminated by the server which in this case
was news.microsoft.com
