I could not find an answer for this one after a couple of hours
searching online:

Today for the first time, I could not drag and drop (move or copy) an
email message in outlook express (ie6) to save in a windows explorer
folder.

Details? What kind of E-mail account? E.g. what type of server?

Try using Forward as attachment with that message and then drag
the attachment where you want it to go. (The difference would be
a different type of conversion needed before the drag operation.
You could examine the differences in those details by tracing the drag
operations with ProcMon (or FileMon.)

Good luck

The cursor indicates a successful pickup of the email message,
then asks if I want to copy or move (after I arrive at destination
folder with the cursor), I execute either command, and nothing
happens. Also, no error messages.

I've tried all the simple stuff:

-Shutting down programs and Rebooting

-I tried saving all of my email messages elsewhere and had outlook
express create new dbx folders. A test message from one of these
freshly created folders also could not be moved or copied.

So far nothing. Does it seem like I have to reinstall ie6?

Hi Robert:

I am not talking about moving files from a server to a pc; I meant to
say that I am moving email messages from outlook express folders to
folders in windows (not into other outlook express folders).

The problem with forwarding messages as attachment is that I am
dealing, on some days with upwards of 200-300 email messages from
customers and suppliers, and this would seem to add a lot of extra
work.
