Outlook express just started with a new problem. When I send an email, I
can
see it in my outbox momentarily, as always, and then it appears in my sent
folder like it should, no error messages; however, the receipients, ALL of
them in my contacts, not just one or two, have not been receiving my
emails
for about 2 months now. I have checked the settings, had friends check
everything out, and all is the way it should be. What happened? Any
ideas?
I also checked the settings for my virus scan and nothing has changed. I
can receive emails just fine.
Windows XP Home
McAffee Plus Virus scan/firewall
This can happen when an anti-virus tells OE the mail has been sent before it
scans the mail but then the scanning delay causes the server to time out
before the anti-virus actually does scan the mail.
Email scanning should be turned off in any anti-virus. Also exclude EML
files from the scan. It provides no
protection not provided by the regular resident protection.
Besides that, McAfee and Norton are not compatible with Windows Mail and
Outlook Express and should be uninstalled.
