Compacting Question
Tech-Archive recommends: Repair Windows Errors & Optimize Windows Performance
The Tom Koch website mentions, as part of the compacting
process, "Now click File| Work Offline so that no new
messages will be arriving." I have heard that advice
before, followed with the suggestion to disconnect from the
Internet if one is on a dial-up connection. Is it necessary
or desirable to disconnect before compacting, or is clicking
"Work Offline" sufficient?
Many thanks.
