I used to run 'Compact all folders' on a regular basis. Very occasionally
I
would get the error message "The folder is currently in use by Outlook
Express or by another application" but that was easily resolved by
closing
down and opening up OE. However, the error now message comes up every
time and cannot be cleared. I am not aware of making any changes that
may have caused this. Any ideas how to resolve this please?
Is it always the same folder?
What if you first select Outlook Express at the top of the Folder List and
then click File | Work Offline?

Do not send mail.
Thanks Frank.
The name(s) of the files being compacted isn't displayed so it isn't
possible to see which one it's stopping on or, of course, if it's
consistent.
Working off line doesn't make any difference.
