your mail would be rejected by most servers as malicious, including a script
that runs without explicit permission is frowned upon

Not what I was looking for. I know that.
The "Request Read Receipt" leaves it up to the
recipient to say Yes or No.
I want it to be automatic, so I know it was
received for sure.

Before posting a message in Outlook Express...
Click Tools
Click Request Read Receipt
When the addressee opens your email he will be
informed that you have
requested a Read (past tense) receipt. It is then
up to him/her to click Yes
to send a Message Read receipt. If he does click
Yes, an automatic reply
that he has read your email will be placed in his
Outbox and will be sent to
you next time he Sychnorizes All or Sends and
Receives emails.
But the person at the other end (the addressee)
can decide to Click No --
NOT to send you a message confirming that he has
read your email.

I originally posted in Win XP thinking this was
linked to the Win program.
But I think it's more of an E-Mail problem.
A long time ago I used Netscape when I worked.
It
had the ability to send
back a msg of "message read" when the recipient
opened their e-mail.
Didn't always mean they read my msg but at least
I
knew they got it.
Assume Outlook Express or Outlook doesn't have
this feature, so does
anyone know what other programs might have
it...............TNX
