Re: Address book

I am not that computer savvy.
I thought that sharing of address book between OL and OE would be very
convenient because I have built contact list manually with OL falsely
assuming that OE would share.
It now seems that I should have two separate contact lists between OE and
OL.
That does not look quite logical.
Thanks again.

You don't need sharing of contacts enabled to use OL's Calendar.

It seems that's the problem.
I did not disable OL because I use it everyday for Calendar.

Did you disable sharing of contacts with OL?

I followed your instruction religiously. All done. But where did the
import address go in OE?
After completion of import, I opened OE.
Create Mail > To (for addresses)
It only shows the same Main Identity's Contact as before. I do not
seem
to
find new addresses from OL (imported).
Shared Contact is empty.
Needed your further instruction.

If you don't use OL for email, why do you use its Address Book?
Here's what I'd do:
1. Export your OL contacts as a CSV file.
2a. Disable sharing of (Windows/OE) Address Book contacts with OL -
see
http://www.insideoe.com/files/wab.htm#share.
2b. If you don't use any components of OL other than its contacts
(e.g.,
Calendar), remove OL from your install of MS Office 2003 via
Add/Remove
Programs > Change/Remove (have your Office CD handy).
3a. Import the CSV file from OL into (Windows/OE) Address Book via
File
>
Import > Other Address Book;
OR...
3b. Create a Standalone Address Book
(http://www.insideoe.com/files/wab.htm#wabexe) and import the OL CSV
file
into it.

Then, how can I synchronize addresses between Outlook (2003) and

I maintain Contact current with Outlook but I use OE exclusively
for
emailing.
Thank you. Roman

No. And if you disable sharing, any changes that you made while
sharing
was enabled will not be available (seen) in Address Book.

I use both Outlook 2003 and Outlook Express.
Both share the same address book by modifying WAB4.
But I see some missing addresses in OutlookExpress.
Is there anyway to tweak to show up all addresses in Outlook (i.e.,
contact)?
