When you import, the messages are not removed from the old identity.

OE is not the best program for a business, but I strongly recommend that you
back it up on a daily basis, whether for business or regular mail.

This freeware tool backs up everything in OE in seconds. Disregard what is
written in red. That is referring to a different program.

Thank you. Now that I've created the new identity, I see that I have
to import all of my e-mail messages from my old identity. I'm nervous
about doing that. Please reassure me that I won't lose any of my
messages during the import process. Will they still be available under
my old identity if something goes wrong? I do have most of the
messages backed up, but that's not the same as having them easily
accessible on OE.

The From line can be altered in the Address Book. That said, once you
create
the new identity and delete the old one, you can rename the new identity.

I should have been more clear. My use my company name as my Identity.
That's what clients and others are accustomed to seeing in the "from"
line. I haven't been able to come up with an alternative Identity that
is close enough to my company name and also looks professional.

When I try to create a new folder in OE 6, nothing happens. This
problem started about a month ago. The advice offered to others who
have had this problem is to change your e-mail identity.
Unfortunately, I can't change my Identity because it is tied to my
business. Is there another fix that I can try?
