We have a webpage that contains a link to an Excel spread*** located on a
file server. Before upgrading to IE7 the link worked fine with no error
messages. After upgrading to IE7, an error message is displayed when the
link is clicked. The spread*** is still opened, but the error message
indicates that the file cannot be found. It looks like IE7 tries to convert
the path to the Excel file into a URL format, which causes the error. Links
to Word documents and PDFs on file servers work just fine, it is only Excel.
Any ideas? Thank you in advance.
