Please, please, please, do /not/ use Symantec, or McAfee. Aside from that little glitch, AVG is a better program and will not cause a lot of problems with OE that Norton and McAfee does. Not to mention that you should never use e-mail scanning with OE regardless of the program you are using. It causes numerous problems including wiping out entire folders of their contents.

You won't see any MVP in this newsgroup that uses Norton or McAfee. I use AVG myself.

Okay, removing AVG from my computer got rid of the paper clips unless there
is an attachment. I don't know if I will reinstall it or just let Symantec
handle things. Thanks once again Bruce for your help.
