My SMTP server name is correct. this is the error message I get after
I'm flagged with the message that the SMTP server hasn't responded in 90
seconds and I click Stop:

A time-out occurred while communicating with the server. Account:
'pop3.mail.wowway.com', Server: 'smtp.mail.wowway.com', Protocol: SMTP, Port:
25, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC19.

The strange part is that it worked for a couple of weeks after I first
reloaded IE7.

So which server is named in the error? Did you change from
'smtp.comcast.net' to whatever is the right name for the WOW SMTP server?

Do you have an anti virus program set up to scan email? Have you reinstalled
the AV program, *without* the email scanner?

You won't fix your problem by reloading the MSFT software because the MSFT
software *isn't* the problem.
