Uncheck the option to download xxx headers as suggested. Then reset the NGs.
Right click on the NG name in the folder list and go to Properties | Local File and then click on reset followed by compact. Then go back to the NG and refresh it and you should get all the messages.

Recently all the posts in all my subscribed groups started showing
up as replied to with no original. Every thread starts with Re:
I tried everything I could think of which was to remove all the
settings. I removed email and Newsgroup accounts and left them idle
for a few days to decide what to do. I have created new IDs now and
all seems well except for the previously messed up identities which
I would like to use again. I added new accounts thinking everything
had to be fine now but those same IDs even though they are setup to
subscribe to different newsreaders and email providers than they had
been before still show the posts to be in the same corrupt state as
before. This does not occur with Agent Newsreader software set up
the same so it must be an Outlook Express issue.
Of coarse this is just one more issue that I feel has arisen from the
infection of the I.E. 7 malware update. My system has been puking on
a regular basis ever since that thing happened. I haven't found
anyone with this problem in any search of Google. Am I looking at a
complete fresh install of IE?
Thanks for any tips.

Make sure the option to download ### messages at a time is not
checked.
I just double(triple) checked all the settings and there are three IDs that are giving the undesirable results while three newer ones are fine. I exported the settings from the first three at one point to make sure I was not mistakenly entering incorrect settings. Believe me I have looked at this so many times and have been searching for over a week to figure this thing out. It is not a huge issue as I do have the other IDs and other Systems running fine so I am not desperate. I am considering replacing this drive with a cloned backup from sometime in the recent past. This is my last resort that has ended up saving things more than once.
