Re: Creating a message rule

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

I honestly don't know why Create rule from message is grayed out. You are in the Inbox? I never use that option myself. If I want to create a rule, I just go to Tools | Message Rules | Mail | new and create it that way.

I goofed on the other question. Stop processing more *rules* should be checked if available, not messages. If it isn't, a message may be affected by a rule other than the one you want applied to the message.

Hello,

For some reason I don't recall the "Stop processing more messages" when I
set up my previous rule. I am very curious about something before I try all
of this stuff. Why when I click on a message that I want the rule to apply
to, from the tool bar I click message and the "create rule from message" is
grayed out? Shouldn't that be an option for me?

Thanks.

Any message rule must include Stop processing more messages, unless the
option is grayed out.

In general:

Have all rules that divert mail to folders first.

Delete it from server next.

All others last.

Make sure that every rule also has Stop processing more rules checked,
unless that option is grayed out.
