I found this while searching for an answer to this problem. I was
experiencing the 501 error also.
Go into Iternet Options>Security tab and click the Custom Level
button.
Under miscellaneous there is a heading "Navigate sub frames
accross
different domains". This has to be set as "Enable". Change it for
the
Internet and Trusted sites. Now you can format fonts.

In case you didn't get my first query, I un-installed IE7.
That's what I was saying in my last reply, when I click the Toolbar's
Format
and click on the Font, I still have the 501 error message. And yes
the
Font
and Colors box is seen behing that error message box. Also, the
Fonts
list,
the Size and 16 custom color boxes are available when I write an
e-mail.

hope you can help me fix this much needed problem.

I just re-checked the IE and OE default and they stayed as I

the Microsoft, but in the Custom they do not stay in IE and OE
default,
after
I click OK the change scan takes place but when I go check that
Custom,

IE and OE check I made are returned to the other "default

In an auto Windows Updates IE 7 was installed, not good,
un-installed

now in my OE when I want to change the color of the fonts when

occured

this dialog. Error 501
Permission denied."
I just installed the new Windows Auto Updates, minus IE 7 and I
still
get
this 501 error.
