Thanks Bruce, but that Knowledge Base article refers specifically to a hotfix
for Windows XP SP1 and I already have XP SP2 in which this hotfix would
supposedly have been incorporated. The hotfix described "is only intended to
correct the problem that is described in this article" which is not what is
happening. Having a "complete URL in the subject line or in the body of the
e-mail message" is not the "Send a Link" functionality of OE5.5 with the page
TITLE in the subject line and as the label of the attached link, and whatever
fix they added to XP SP2 did not restore that functionality. The added text
in the body of the email is what I quoted and not the virus warning mentioned
in the KB article, but I guess the fix mentioned would remove any text
message beyond the URL. As far as my others questions, would you know if I
can install OE5.5 under WinXpPro or whether Outlook 2003 sends links like
OE5.5? Thanks.

The registry edit in the second half of this KB article will remove the
virus warning. It will not remove the text identifying the attachment
however.

I had become very accustomed to using the "Send a Link" feature with
IE6/OE5.5/Win98 as a means of collecting info from the web and saving them

and dropping, copying, pasting, deleting, etc., is much more time
consuming
than the old "Send a Link" function. Alternatively, if it were the only
way,
would installing and switching to Outlook 2003 provide the functionality?
