Re: Receiving issues after installing a NetGear DG834GT router

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

Steve,

Many thanks for that but sadly has not answered the problem.

Have deleted and added all the accounts as well as turned off all and any
virus checker / firewalls, just then to reinstall and find that makes no
difference...

2 machines and 2 separate results...
Not sure what more to do know...

Regards,
Peter

First disable email scanning on all of the computers with any antivirus
software you have. Then on the computers that will not connect, try
removing the account, closing OE and then reopening it and then adding the
account back again.

You can also enable a log file under Tools | Options | Maintenance that
might help diagnose the situation.

Also see if you can telnet to the servers:

Hi,

I have 4 computers (2 PCs and 2 laptops) linked to a NetGear DG834GT
Wireless router and all can see the internet but only 2 can send and
receive
emails - all are now now fully up to date so there is minimal difference
in
their set ups.

All connect to a number of hosted servers and this is where the plot
thickens. PC 1 and Laptop 1 are both able to access webmail from the
accounts
using IE6 but can not receive (yes but can send) mail from all the
accounts
using either Outlook or Outlook Express. On the otherhand PC2 and Laptop2
can receive and send from all the address using both Outlook and Outlook
Express. We have been through all the settings and to the best of our
knowledge all are identical but yet some can receive and others cant.

In addition to this we have download an Outlook Express checker from
www.scandbx.com and run this and all is OK with Outlook Express' databases
but it found the receive functions to be wrong for all but one account
which
it believed that worked... However it did not when we tried.... argh.....

Not sure what more can be done other than through half of them out the
window.... Please help if you might have an idea as to why.

Many thanks in advance.

Kind regards,
Peter
