You can do it with a SPAN tag indicating a background color.
The tag should use language similar to the following:
<SPAN style="BACKGROUND: yellow">You can do it with a SPAN tab indicating
a background color.</SPAN>
Just make sure the SPAN tag surrounds the text you wish highlighted in a HTML formatted message. You can see the specific HTML code by highlighting this reply, then press Ctrl+F2.
