Re: Sending larger emails is slow, then stops

It's a matter of getting a combination of compatible MTU settings
between your PC, your Router (if one is used) and the ISP.

The article I listed talks about setting the MTU on your PC. And it
suggest trying a range of different values between 576 and 1400 until
you find one that works.

In the case of a router, you'll need to consult its documentation for
how to change the MTU.

You may need to try various combinations of settings between the PC and
Router.

I know this is probably ignorant but one article says set the registry
MTu
at 576 and the other says to set the router at (in my case) 1452. Is
this
right? Larry

Over the last week, sending my larger emails (with images) has
slowed
to a
crawl and then just stops midway. I have 3.0/128 ADSL. I noticed
that
the
activity lights in the Systray don't stay on solid, they send a
little,
blink a little and then stop, as if the DSL has lost synch. But,
it
hasn't
as other things work just fine.

OE gives me the message that it has lost connection.

I don't know if it is the program, my computer, DSL or my ISP
(Earthlink).
Any suggestions? Thanks, Lar
