I have been through all the trouble shooting info I can find with
Pbtinternet.com & yahoo.com plus OE.but am still without email. I can
connect to the Internet. but any other connection is Nill.

Many Thanks
Lilac,

PS. I also got a new error while trying to send email via yahoo just now. it
said something about not being conifgured to send email with OE. sorry but
didn't manage to get it all.

Unlike SBC Yahoo! DSL Service (which is now called, "AT&T Yahoo! HSI"), BT
Yahoo! won't let me access the help files without logging in. Obviously, my
SBC Yahoo! login won't work. So I don't know what your mail servers should
be. BT Internet should have given you the BT Yahoo! mail servers.

What I do know, from my SBC Yahoo! experience, is that accessing the mail
servers _requires_ authentication. In MSOE, you would go to your account
properties, to the servers tab, and check the relevant boxes for "My server
requires authentication". But _DO NOT_ check the "Log on using Secure
Password Authentication" box. That is _not_ the same thing as server
authentication; it is some kind of MS Exchange feature, and it does not
apply to the Yahoo! email servers.

You may be required to use your full email address as the log in name. It
is that way for SBC Yahoo! DSL Service.
