That's because the original mail probably was Outlook, which has hideous HTML, such as what you posted below.
Why it got to 100 pt is another issue, but that's clearly code from MS Office and not OE.

Hello,
thanks for your help. The weird thing is that this happens even with mails
that I reply to from my own Outlook Express. Here is the source code of one
of those mails:
<DIV>
<P class=MsoNormal
style="MARGIN-LEFT: 35.4pt; mso-margin-top-alt: auto;
mso-margin-bottom-alt: auto"><SPAN
class=apple-style-span><FONT face="Times New Roman" color=black
size=7><SPAN
style="FONT-SIZE: 100pt; COLOR: black">Laat me even weten of dit helpt, zo
niet: proberen we nog iets anders....</SPAN></FONT></SPAN><O:P
style="FONT-SIZE: 16px; FONT-FAMILY: Times New Roman"></O:P><FONT
color=black><SPAN style="COLOR: black"><O:P
style="FONT-SIZE: 16px; FONT-FAMILY: Times New
Roman"></O:P><o:p></o:p></SPAN></FONT></P></DIV>
<DIV>
As you can see, just that one sentence changed to a font of 100 points,
although I never specified that...
Regards,
GP

Hi GP,the
I don't have information specific to the issue, but the font size may beroot of the problem. A mail program not (completely) compatible with OEthatis designating the font size to be "100" may be the cause.news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie6_outloo
Outlook Express can only use a font size of 8, 10, 12, 14, 18, 24 and 36,
and is unable to correctly interpret other font sizes.
The MS news server experienced some trouble the last few day. More people
able to respond may see your query if you connect directly (to the MS

Hello,
I am experiencing a rather strange issue with mail in Outlook Express: I
often receive mails which I reply to or forward. Sometimes the recipient
will get those mails with certain characters or paragraphs changed to a
large font. This is totally random and can be just a few words in a line,oran entire line, or just a few characters. In order to exclude any softwareis
problems on my computer, I reinstalled XP with SP2, but even with a fresh
install, the problem remains. The only way to get rid of those charactersto go to Tools - Options - Accessibility in Internet Explorer, and selectI
the field to ignore font sizes on webpages, which of course makes web
browsing a not so nice experience. Does anybody have an idea what could
cause this ? I have done everything from changing fonts to scanning the
registry for any clue. When I look at the source of the emails with the
large fonts, I can see that it is font type Arial with a font size of 100.have a feeling that it has something to do with web settings, but I don´t
know where else to look.
Thanks for any help in advance.
GP
