Hi
I have recently changed which email server Outlook Express logs on to to pick up my mail. For some reason next to my OE Inbox is (17) in blue, meaning I have 17 new emails, however there is nothing in the inbox! I know that there is nothing within the email server either due to being able to log on via web mail. So this must be a OE bug, does anyone know how to 'refresh' OE.
I have restarted, but nothing changes. I don't really want to remove the account and configure it all again within OE if all all poss.
Any ideas?
Thanking you in anticipation of your response.
Move all the messages you have in your Inbox and Sent Items to user created folders, created as sub folders to Local Folders (ie, My Inbox or My Sent Items). Then click on Outlook Express at the top of the folder tree. Then File/Work Offline. Then, go back to File/Folders/Compact all folders. Do not do *anything* until it's done, no matter how long it takes.
Do not store messages in your default folders as this will corrupt them and lead to the kind of problems you are experiencing now. Also, if you have your anti virus checking your email, disable it, as it offers no additional protection and can cause problems with Outlook Express.
