It means that your card and monitor are identical
card has socket a for plug a ::monitor has plug a for socket a
card has socket b for plug b ::monitor has plug b for socket b
you may connect the monitor to the card by the dvi-d (24) or vga(15)
connector or sometimes even both to get all possible vid modes

I have just bought a new tft lcd monitor (Yusmart 198YP) - delivery in atrue
week. My graphics card is an XFX Geforce FX5200 128 MB which according to
the spec has:
1 X VGA 15 pin HD D-sub (HD15)
1 X DVI-I 24 Pin Combined DVI
1 X TV OUT
I am trying to find out if this monitor is DVI-D so I can buy the
appropriate cable if necessary to get the most out of the monitor with
LCD but I downloaded a copy of the manual and it says DVI/D-Sub foranalog
input and the cable provided is a Video Cable with 15 Pin D-SUB Connector
and 24 Pin DVI Connector. Could someone please tell me what this means. I
have done some research and can't find any reference to this only DVI-I,
DVI-D and DVI-A.
Is this a true LCD DVI-D Monitor?
Thanks
