OE 6 does not come with its own spell check. You need Word or an MS Office program.

The spell checker in the basic Works 4 through 6 will work with OE. Older and newer versions do not.

If you have Works Suite, that includes MS Word and a spell checker that does work with OE.

My Outlook Express won't enable the Spell Check button when I am composing
mail. What I can find on this says it is dependent on other Office
applications to supply the dictionary. When I go into Word and click the
Spell Check button in Word 2000, an error message says it can't find the
files msspell3.dll and mssp232.dll. Have gone to Control Panel/Add new
programs and run the reinstall on Office followed by a restart - no luck.
Where can I locate those files and where should they be installed on my PC?
