whoops, forgot to include that I have been to the KB to check that
error
and
it didn't point me to anything that solved this particular problem,
it's
becoming quite a hassle. I have never had a problem adding the account
over
the last five years, and have never had issues with security settings
either...I really AM baffled!
Just a reminder to anyone jumping in at this point, I have received
confirmation from Hotmail support that I am still able to access my
hotmail
from OE..at least according to them I should be able to anyway!
Thanks for trying to help, I appreciate your efforts on this

that was not a solution I had seen before, it didn't work but thanks
for trying! I did as you suggested and I got a new error this time;
Unable to poll for new messages on your HTTP server. Account:

'http://services.msn.com/svcs/hotmail/httpmail.asp', Protocol:
HTTPMail, Server Response: 'Redirect to partner', Port: 0,

So where to go from here?

I have never used Hotmail, but I do know that they are constantly

following is an example of the error message you may be seeing, and
a solution. It is about two years old though, so if it doesn't work
for you,
post back, but you will have to wait until another sees this post
and has
another solution as this is all that I have.

I have been using Outlook Express for nearly 5 years and have
never had
this
problem come up before, I have done dozens of formats and
reconfigured
many
systems with no problem but this one has me stumped, I have
sought help
through Microsoft but the first level technicians have only
referred me to
a
pay service that I cannot afford; anyone willing to help me
tackle
it?
here goes... After doing a format on my computer and reinstalling
XP I
cannot access my hotmail account from Outlook Express 6 any
longer. (I
knew
that new accounts could not do this but had been told that
existing accounts
could still download their hotmail.) Despite the fact that my
Hotmail
account is 5 years old now, I get an error whenever I try to
access it,
the
error number is 0x800CCC32. Hotmail support has told me that I
should be
able to access it just fine. I have configured Norton to allow
it, and
also
IE, I have added the hotmail account and deleted it in order to
re-enter
the
information, I have also entered that error into the KB and
checked to see
if
I had missed anything - no go...any advice?!?
