Re: Gettin Emails off of "other" hard drive.

In WindowsXP, 2K & 3K, the OE user files (DBX and WAB) are by default
marked as hidden. To view these files in Explorer, you must enable
Show Hidden Files and Folders under Start>Control Panel>Folder
Options>View.

This seems to put me on the right track, as I have found the files (in hidden
folders). But, when I try File>Import>Messages, I can only get to "Documents
and Settings\Michelle\" but can't get to "Local Settings", as there is no
option. How do I proceed from there to get to the files to be imported?

Thanks

Messages:
1. Connect your old hard drive to the new PC.
2. Find your *.dbx files on your old hard drive (press Win+F to find them)
3. Run Outlook Express, then File>Import>Messages and import all your
messages from old hard drive.

Address book:
1. Find *.wab file on the old hard drive.
2. Run Windows Address Book (Press Win+R, type WAB)
3. Import data from *.WAB file (Menu/File/Import/Address Book (WAB)).

In future use OE Backup - complete backup and transfer solution for Outlook
Express.
