Re: What is Motive SmartBridge?

Tech Tip: Click here to run a free scan for Windows Errors and optimize PC performance

Thank you for your answer to my initial question, which I've tried to
recover and repost to refresh your memory, but can't find it.

Here it is in Google Groups archive:

http://groups.google.com/group/microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie6_outlookexpress/browse_frm/thread/6a7ddb460e098aad/1801be743b0de2fa?q=sanandra&rnum=2#1801be743b0de2fa

Copy/Paste this link into an IE Addressbar and click GO to open this newsgroup in your default newsreader:

news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie6_outlookexpress

But I have not been able to find a program entitled Motive SmartBridge
to disable or uninstall it as you said.

If you don't have Motive SmartBridge installed, it's not installed and it's not the cause of your cursor problem. (McAfee VirusScan is another known culprit.)

Also, I don't understand how to add a new identity. I mean, I can do
the steps under Tools, Accounts, etc, but my ISP always told me that it
had to be done with them so that I could receive my mail.

I think you're confusing the terms identity and email account (or address): You can have any number of email accounts running in one identity. See http://www.insideoe.com/files/store.htm#storemain.

[I use] an optical corded mouse

Have you cleaned the underside of the mouse lately, including the lens? If you use a different mouse, does the problem persist?

PA Bear,

Thank you for your answer to my initial question, which I've tried to
recover and repost to refresh your memory, but can't find it. But your
reply was on Dec. 30. I have delayed in replying because I have been
trying to learn to do these things you suggested to repair and avoid a
corrupt identity in the future. such as moving my messages to local
folders instead of the default folders; compacting the folders,
disabling the email scanner,. emptying deleted folders daily. Cookies
too?

But I have not been able to find a program entitled Motive SmartBridge
to disable or uninstall it as you said. It is not listed under Add or
Remove Programs, and does not come up with a hard drive search.
Also, I don't understand how to add a new identity. I mean, I can do
the steps under Tools, Accounts, etc, but my ISP always told me that it
had to be done with them so that I could receive my mail. I only have
one account under one name with OE and I get newsgroups through MS
news.

Also Ron Sommer asked what type of mouse I am using and the answer is
an optical corded mouse.I don't highlight the email when deleting
unless it is one I don't open and read first. Is highlighting first a
problem?

Thanks in advance,
Sanandra
