Glad it helped. MIME has different encoding ideas (7-bit, Quoted Printable, Base64, 8-bit, binary), plus it describes the data it encodes (as an example,
part of the encoded file is Content-Type) and MIME-QP is the default for HTML messages.

It also works correctly after I revert the MIME encoding for HTML messages to Quoted Printable! Problem solved, who knows why... :-D
Thanks for the tip, Jim!
"dOinK" <tvanvik@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> wrote in message news:dnaco9$s11$1@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxMy plain text setting is as you describe, but thanks anyway. This happened when I sent messages in HTML format I have now changed the encoding from Quoted Printable to Base64, and now the files are attached properly.
Why?

"dOinK" <tvanvik@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> wrote in message news:dnaaer$r28$1@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxI'm using OE 6 on WinXP SP2. Whenever I attach a jpeg image, the file "Content-Type" value is set to "application/octet-stream". Is there any way I can make OE specify the correct type, namely "image/jpeg", when composing and sending such messages?
