Thanks for the response, Frank.
I get the same error message when attempting to receive new messages
with my Avast antivirus turned off. Here is the pop-up message I
receive after the 'receiving mail' progress bar hangs about 1/3 to 1/2
across:
"A time-out occurred while communicating with the Server Account 'mail
comcst.net(1), Server'mail comcast.net,Protocol POP3, Port 110,
Secure(SSL):No, Error number 0x800CCC19"
As mentioned the problem appears to be with my account identity on OE
6 on my Win XP (HE) pc - my daughter is able access her comcast email
on her pc with her account identity and I can access my comcast email
via web mail on their home page.
