Just following up... I checked DDE but forgot to fill in any of the boxes
and
the links still work. I also recreated the URL:File Transfer Protocol and
the
URL:Gopher Protocol with the same path info.

Also, when I initially installed IE (quite a while back) I installed it on
my E: drive.
I'm guessing that when I did the XP reinstall/repair that IE wound up in
C:\Program Files. Well time for a little experimenting, I still have that
"Internet Explorer" on my E: drive, guess I'll rename it and see what
happens.
