Re: THE REAL answer to Limited user woes!

Jim,

I just started configuring a new computer today. Running XP Home and OE 6
(no MS Office products, i. e. Outlook, are installed). The default login
(Owner) was as an Administrator. OE is running just fine under that account.
>From there I created two limited account users for other family members.
When switching to those users and opening OE there is the error that the
address book failed to load. Attempting to create one by importing from a
CSV file also fails. The same thing happens even if another identity is
created in OE.

If I log on as Owner and delete those users and create a new one with Admin
privileges, then switch to the new user, I can open OE fine. It opens using
the Owner address book (which I had previously imported). From there I can
create a new identity and import the second user CSV file.

So there is obviously some issue with running OE in user accounts that do
not have admin privileges. I obvously do not want to run as an Admin
routinely, and the wife and kids also want to have their own user logins
rather than using different identities in OE under my login. I also want to
create another (limited) account for me. I have run many W2K and XP
computers and have never encountered this issue with OE. I am suspicious it
may be related to one of the recent security updates (of the 30+ I installed
before creating the users or working with OE).
