Bear, even with an extra beer, how is it possible that you can't see my
screenshot?
BTW, I've never had any trouble at all viewing images posted in newsgroups;
it's just emoticons that are blocked.
As you suggested, I unchecked "read all messages in plain text". I then
closed the program, reopened, and went to a thread where I knew there were
emoticons, but they still read as red x's.
In the final analysis, not being able to see emoticons is not a big deal,
but it's puzzling that after unchecking "the usual suspects" in both OE and
QuoteFix that this condition still remains. The only thing left is to try
the double bubble toil and trouble routine you've shown. I'm on the fence
about this. If it's a security issue, I'll likely do it, otherwise, the
program works fine and I'd just as soon leave it alone. Let me know.
