Over 30? You don't look a day over 29. :-)
You smooth talker you....;o))
I lived in NY, about 40 miles north of the city, for 50 years, so I know everything you're talking about, especially the humidity. Came out here to get away from all of that. What made you go to VA? Military allegiance?
NY! Well....then you are f'miliar with the humidi-dew. No...not military allegiance....I just wanted to see how the other half lived. I was raised in east Texas, but, I guess the 'skeeters mutated over the years. <g>
The other day, a CA native said it was muggy. The humidity as in the 60s. High for here, but a REALLY NICE summer day in the northeast.
Oh yeah! We have a dry day when it's only 79% here. <G>

Sunny and 75° as usual.
Sheesh! Braggart! 97F....feels like 110F! We get humidity here, ya know. Mildew takes on a whole new meaning.
Right click on the System Tray by the clock | Properties | Start Menu and change to Classic Mode and see if you can drag the icon now to Start | Programs | Startup and into the area that opens up.
I use the Classic Mode. Maybe the XP Mode won't let you drag it in. You can always switch back.
Ok...I'll give that a try. But, I do have it in Classic view. I'm over 30, I have a hard time seeing all those washed out icons of the "New View". :-)
P.S. It should be Greetings from the *right* coast. (Or the wrong coast). <VBEG>
Wot! You expect me to know my left from my right? ;o) Just goes to show I'm not fully 'adjusted' yet.
The mountains are in the wrong direction, and the beach is 3 hours away instead of 30 minutes.... the mosquitoes are the size of stealth bombers and just as sneaky. I think they must be MosqBots....as even the Picaridin the CDC recommends to keep them away does not work on them (who knew they could read!!) When I look out the window of my back door before I leave the house I see at least a dozen of them hanging around the porch, anxiously sharpening their shnozzles....waiting for me to make a run for my car! It is at this time that I begin to mentally recite..."There's no place like home...There's no place like home..." If only I had not given away my Ruby slippers when I moved... <sigh>

You do have the Views bar checked?
If you do, I would go to the Control Panel | Add/Remove Programs and remove it. Then download it again. www.oehelp.com/OETool/
After you're done, grab the OETool icon that is on the Desktop and drag it
to Start | All Programs | Startup and leave a copy there. It will load
seconds after you open OE.
I just installed this tool and could not get it into the Startup on the All
programs as you suggested. Whenever I tried to drag the shortcut to the
Startup the list just shut down. Thus, I added the item to the Start list and just manually start it when I first log on. It works fine here on my XP Pro SP2.

"ggull" <ggull@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> wrote in message news:uge3YF6oFHA.1048@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxSince moving my email / newsreading to a Win XP HE SP2 machine from a Win
Me machine about a month ago, I haven't been able to get OETool to work
(i.e., the little icons never show up on the toolbar, though the icon for
the program does show up in that little section at the lower right of the
screen).
I was originally using version 1.40 and simply copied the zip file to the
new system.
Then I downloaded version 1.9.0.5.
I checked the website, and tried the following:
I've tried running it in Windows 98 / Me compatibility mode, and also the
Win 95 mode.
I've tried running it both before and after starting OE itself.
Background compaction can be a problem, but as I understand, that is not
an option in XP SP2. (?at least I can't find it)
.
